The foundation stone laying ceremony which marked the start of construction of a new modern factory Kandit in the industrial zone Nemetin was held on 15 March 2013 at 12 am, in the presence of local government officials, businessmen and many dignitaries from Osijek. The director of Kandit Mario Müller and the mayor of Osijek Krešimir Bubalo laid the foundation stone for the future factory.
The new factory will cover 23,000 m² and, for Kandit, that means the possibility of producing modern, diverse products in accordance with market trends and increase in production capacity. This is a significant investment in the region, and it should be noted that the construction of the factory actually started the development of the company in new technological and organizational conditions. By restructuring, reorganizing and building of a new factory Kandit will be ready for the EU market and will set the modern-designed products in order to win customers in the region. Completion of work and final relocation is planned for the first half of 2014.
